Born Godson Ominibie Ekpelle. 1Da Banton was born on July 24, 1994 and is currently 27 years old. He was born and bred in the capital city of Port Harcourt, River State, South South Nigeria. His both parents hail from Opobo, River State.

The singer was born in Port Harcourt and attended both primary and secondary school there.

1da Banton grew up wanting to be a musician, claiming that he developed an interest in music as a teen after hearing his father play the music of Fela, Bob Marley, and other legendary artists.

The singer, when asked in an interview about how he started his journey into music, said, “My corner of PH City was rough, but it gave me the street experience I needed as well as the background for the vibe you hear in my music.”

He was said to have sent one of his freestyles to Squareballs Entertainment boss, Adasa Cookey, who fell in love with the way he sang and helped him improve his music. He was later signed to Squareballs Entertainment after he moved to Lagos from Port Harcourt.

He then, started recording several music tracks after he was signed to Squareball Records. 1Da Banton was the one who produced the popular hit song by Ajebo hustler featuring Davido, titled “Barawo.”

In 2021, the “no wahala” crooner released his much anticipated debut album titled “Original Vibe Machine,” which was comprised of 15 tracks. The album also contained his hit song “No Wahala”, which became a trending song due to its lyrics.

The fast rising artist has worked with lots of different artists, including Davido, Ajebo hustlers, Tiwa Savage, and lots of others.
