Paul Akintelure was born on July 7th, 1963 in Ondo State, Nigeria. He had his primary education at St. Anthony’s RCM School, Omotosho, and St. Pius Primary School, Igbotako, before he proceeded to Manuwa Memorial Grammar School, Iju-Odo, for his secondary education.

Paul Akintelure began his career as a teacher at Lubokun Comprehensive High School, Igbotako before he a became a distinguished medical practitioner. Paul Akintelure contested as the deputy governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) with Rotimi Akeredolu against Olusegun Mimiko, the then Labour Party flagbearer, who won the election. He also ran for the senatorial seat against the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, but he lost.
