She has also received her doctorate in business administration from Apollos University, USA. She has also completed an advanced Management Program (AMP) from the prestigious Harvard Business School.

Adaora Umeoji holds a Certificate in Economics for Business from the prestigious MIT Sloan School of Management, USA. She has also received a certificate in the Global Banking Program from Columbia Business School.

Adaora Umeoji began her career working in various managerial positions at Zenith Bank. She has over almost 30 years of experience in the banking sector of which 26 years have been with Zenith Bank. She was the Deputy Managing Director of Zenith Bank before she was appointed as its new group managing director and chief executive officer (GMD/CEO).

Adaora Umeoji is the founder of the Catholic Bankers Association of Nigeria (CBAN), a platform Known to promote ethical banking and service to humanity. She is also the founder of the Adorable Foundation and the Pink Breathe Cancer Foundation, NGOs that educate and cater to cancer patients and indigent children education, especially the girl child. She has also received several awards and recognitions due to her outstanding performance in the banking sector.

Adaora Umeoji is a fellow of different professional bodies including the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, the Nigerian Institute of Management, the Institute of Credit Administration, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria, the Chartered Banker Institute, UK,  and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria.
