Adamu Fika popularly known as Wazirin was born in 1933 at Fika in Yobe State. He was a well-known Nigerian politician who served as the permanent secretary of the police affairs department, Ministry of Communication, and Federal Capital Territory.

 

On October 24, 2023, it was confirmed that Adamu Fika passed away in mid-flight on his way back to Kaduna from a hospital in London. According to the media, he has been battling health issues for some time now.

Adamu Fika Early Life and Education

Adamu Fika popularly known as Wazirin was born in 1933 at Fika in Yobe State. He completed his early education at Kaduna Government College, Zaria before he went to Ahmadu Bello University where he obtained his degree.

Adamu Fika Career

Adamu Fika began his career after he was appointed as the Provincial Inspector of Education, Provincial Education Officer, Zaria. He later became the Inspector of Education, Adamawa Province, Yola before he  

became the Principal at the Federal Training Centre (FTC), Kaduna.

In 1968, Adamu Fika was appointed as Deputy Secretary of Interim Common Services Agency where he served for two years before he was later appointed as the Secretary of Interim Common Services Agency. He also served as the Commissioner of Finance, North-Eastern State in 1972.

Adamu Fika was later transferred to the federal civil service where he was appointed at various times Permanent Secretary in the different Ministries including Internal Affairs, Commerce, Public Service Department, Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, and Communications.

Adamu Fika has also served as the Permanent Secretary of the Police Affairs Department, Executive Office of the President, and Chief Executive of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Abuja. In 1986, he was also appointed as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation where he served until he retired from the Federal Public Service.

Adamu Fika was also the pro-chancellor, chairman of the governing council of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2018, and the chairman of the board of trustees of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) until his death.
