Murtala Ajaka Muri was born on February 13th, 1978 in Kogi State, Nigeria. He is a Nigerian politician, entrepreneur, and philanthropist who is the governorship candidate under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the Kogi State Gubernatorial elections.

Recently, in an interview, Murtala Ajaka claimed that he has survived 30 attacks since he joined the governorship race. He went further to state that 23 people were killed including three policemen in his director-general house on November 8th, 2023, a place he was supposed to pass the night.

Murtala Ajaka Muri was born on February 13th, 1978 in Kogi State, Nigeria. He began his early education at the Roman Catholic Mission Primary School, Ajaka, and completed it at the Federal Polytechnic Staff School, Idah.

Murtala Ajaka went to the Barewa College, Zaria, where he obtained his degree before he attended the University of Abuja where he bagged his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology.

Murtala Ajaka Career

Murtala Ajaka began his political career when he was elected as Deputy State Secretary of the now-defunct Action Congress (AC), FCT Chapter. He later became the National Assembly Liaison Officer of the Action Congress (AC) in 2006. After the merger of ANPP, CPC, and CAN to the present APC in 2013, he was appointed the coordinator of one of the Committees in recognition of his sterling political and interpersonal credentials.

Murtala Ajaka was appointed pioneer Head of Protocol of the All Progressive Congress. Shortly afterward, he was appointed as Special Assistant to the National Secretary in 2014. Due to his remarkable accomplishment in his political and administrative mastery especially in the tough landscapes of conflict resolution and internal party administration. He was appointed as Special Adviser to the National Chairman of APC in 2020.

In 2022, Murtala Ajaka was elected as Deputy National Publicity Secretary at the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress. Shortly afterward, he became the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the fourth-coming Kogi State Gubernatorial elections.

Besides being a politician, Murtala Ajaka is also a successful businessman with an interest in oil and gas, power and energy, and public sector procurement services. He also holds various board positions in several organizations including Chemical Company Ltd, MMB Petroleum, and Yabuben Nigeria Ltd.
