Linda Akhigbe was born in Nigeria and she completed her early education where she grew up with her parents. She went to Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, where she obtained her degree in Mass Communication. She also holds a Master’s degree in Media Communication and Public Relations from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom.

Linda Akhigbe began her career in journalism during her one-year NYSC at the National Television Authority (NTA) Akwa, Anambra State, where she served as a newscaster. During her time at the news station, she was involved in the production and presentation of a weekly civic education program and also covered political activities.

Linda Akhigbe joined HotFM as a News Anchor/Correspondent where she reported extensively on the activities of the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations, the EU, and the World.

In 2008, Linda Akhigbe joined Channels Television as a Senior News Anchor/ Correspondent and has been there for over 15 years. She has reported on the activities of political parties and evaluated the key decisions reached by political parties. She has also reported on Presidential and Governorship elections in Nigeria, social issues, and terrorism in Nigeria including the abduction of the Chibok girls.

Linda Akhigbe is also a program producer of a 30-minute weekly program called “The Gavel” and she has also interviewed lawmakers, public analysts, and legal experts on critical legislation and Parliamentary matters.
