Keefe D whose real name is Duane Keith Davis was born on June 14, 1963, in Compton, California, United States. He completed his early education at the local high school in Compton where he grew up with his parents. However, there are no more information about Keefe D early life and education on the internet.
Murder of Tupac Shakur and Keefe D Involvement
Keefe D is an American member of the California-based gang known as The South Side Compton Crips. He is a childhood friend of N.W.A frontman Easy-E and during the early 90s, he built a friendly relationship with Sean Combs popularly known as Diddy. In 1996, Keefe D claimed that Diddy placed a $1 million hit on Tupac which resulted in Tupac’s death in Las Vegas.
On the night of September 7th, 1996, before Tupac was shot, Anderson fought with Tupac at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vagas. At first, after the shooting, Anderson was not a suspect but eventually, he became a primary suspect in the investigation. Even though stories circulated on that street that Anderson claimed to have shot Tupac, he denied his involvement in an interview with VIBE magazine.
Although the police detained Anderson for a month after the shooting with 21 other alleged gang members, he was not charged. In 1997, Anderson stated in The Angeles Times that he had nothing to do with the murder and he was a fan of Tupac Shakur. Unfortunately, he was killed in a gang-related shootout in 1998.
In 2018, after it was revealed that Keefe D was dying of cancer, he confessed to having played a role in the killing of Tupac. He stated that he was the passenger in the white Cadillac on the night of the incident. Even though he confirmed that Anderson Orlando was the shooter, he refused to give out the names of the other suspects. He went on to say that his nephew did it out of retaliation for getting jumped at the MGM Grand earlier and the $1 million bounty.
On September 29, 2023, Keefe D was arrested and charged in connection with the murder of Tupac Shakur. Before his arrest, a house owned by his wife was raided by police in connection with the murder of Tupac Shakur.
