Ajuri Obari Ngelale was born on November 12th in the 1980s in the United States. He hails from River State and spent part of his childhood days in Ogoni, Rivers. Although his mother is a German US-born individual while his father, Chief Precious Osaro Ngelale is a Nigerian who has served as the Minister of State for Water Resources.

Ajuri Ngelale and his parent relocated to Port Harcourt when he was 5 years old. He completed his early education at Government Secondary School in Port Harcourt before he went to the University of Kansas where he earned a degree in Political Science and History.

Ajuri Ngelale Career

Ajuri Ngelale started working with several media houses including The Sun newspaper where he became the Assistant Editor after finishing secondary school.

After he completed his studies in the U.S., he came back to Nigeria for his National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) and was posted to Africa Independent Television (AIT) as his Primary Place of Assignment.

Ajuri Ngelale continued to work in AIT even after his service year and hosted a radio show called Political Platform which ran five times a week. After three years of active service, he was relieved of his duties at the station but he had already gained popularity with the show.

In 2016, he served as a presenter, producer, and senior news correspondent at Channel Television, Abuja. He also hosted TV shows like Sunrise Day and Africa Future Leaders. He also worked as a Lead Public Affairs Consultant for the Federal Ministry of Power, Work, and Housing.

In 2019, Ajuri Ngelale was appointed as the Senior Special Assistant on Public Matters under the former President Muhammadu Buhari administration. He has written two books titled The Struggle for Nigeria’s Soul and Buhari: From General to President and also edited and published several articles on politics.

On July 31, 2023, Ajuri Ngelale was appointed as the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
