Cheque (Akanbi Bamidele Brett) is a Nigerian singer, song writer and rapper who was born on the 23rd of March 1995 in Ondo state.
Cheque grew up listening to music, and made friends with some popular Nigerian music artistes like Fireboydml, Chinko Ekun and Blaqbonez during his university days.
Cheque was initially known as “Kyle B”, a name given to him by his friend Zamorra.

Cheque completed his primary and secondary school education in Nigeria, where he obtained his first school leaving certificate, and his west African senior school certificate.
He then proceeded to the Obafemi Awolowo university in Osun state, where he graduated with a Bsc in Chemical Engineering.

Cheque started his music career in his university, he enjoyed watching rappers and was intrigued by the way they flowed with words.
Cheque was friends with fireboydml, blaqbonez and chinko ekun during his university days. Back then, he was known as Kyle B, a name given to him by his friend Virus Zamorra. After graduating from OAU in 2017, cheque moved to Lagos, to fully focus on music.
He released an EP titled S.O.O.N (Something out of nothing), which featured the likes of fireboy, Virus zamorra and chinko Ekun.
He and Fireboydml were signed to a label called “Cruel station”. Cheque started doing freestyles and even participated in the “Reminisce Murk Reminisce” challenge, which got him a DM from Phyno.
In February 2019. Cheque was signed to Penthauze, a record label owned by Nigerian indigenous rapper Phyno.
